2018 Kingsley & Kate Tufts Poetry Awards Celebration
We are so excited to celebrate Claremont Graduate University’s 2018 Kingsley & Kate Tufts Poetry Awards winners in southern California this week!
On Thursday, April 19 we are hosting a poetry reading and reception at 7pm at The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens in San Marino, featuring 2018 Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award winner Patricia Smith, and 2018 Kate Tufts Discovery Award winner Donika Kelly, reading from their award-winning titles. The reading is free and open to the public; please RVSP.
On Friday, April 20 Kate Tufts Discovery Award winner Donika Kelly will read at the Ace Hotel for Jack Jones Literary Arts, alongside writers Vanessa Angelica Villarreal and Eloisa Amezcua. Visit the Jack Jones event page for more details.
And, Saturday and Sunday bring the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books to the USC campus–Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award winner Patricia Smith will be reading at the Poetry Stage at 12:00pm on Saturday, April 21. Be sure to check out their full line-up of events–the Poetry Stage is always the place to be.
We so look forward to celebrating with you all–and our award-winning poets–at the Huntington this Thursday, and catching our Kingsley & Kate Tufts poets at their other readings around town. Poetry Month is the best month, always.
