2016 Kingsley Tufts winner Ross Gay at CGU

We are very excited to welcome 2016 Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award winner Ross Gay back to Claremont Graduate University for a week-in-residence, October 2-8, 2016. We look forward to celebrating Ross Gay and poetry through a series of festive receptions, readings, workshops, and class visits.
Highlights include:
- Monday, October 3rd, 6:30pm: a poetry reading at the Claremont Public Library. This reading, a collaboration with the Fourth Sundays: Poetry at the Claremont Library reading series, is free and open to the public.
- Class visits at Claremont Graduate University, Pitzer College, and the University of La Verne.
- Friday, October 7th, 1:00pm: a generative workshop at the dA Center for the Arts. This workshop is free, but space is limited and RVSPs are required.
- Friday, October 7th, 6:00pm: a poetry reading and art show at the Peggy Phelps and East Galleries on the CGU campus. This event celebrates the fall launch of Foothill: a journal of poetry and features readings by Ross Gay and local poet Nikia Chaney, as well as work by Chinese artists Feng Feng, He Jianchen, Che Jian-Quan, and CGU Art student Adrienne DeVine. This reading is free and open to the public — all are welcome.
